Ingredients

  • 2 cups 250 g all‑purpose flour
  • 2  tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1  tsp baking powder
  • ½  tsp salt
  • 1  tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2  tbsp unsalted butter melted and cooled
  • ¾  cup 180 ml milk (dairy or non‑dairy)
  • 1  tsp vanilla extract
  • 2  tbsp unsalted butter melted (for tossing)
  • ⅓  cup 65 g granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1  tbsp ground cinnamon for coating
  • Optional Glaze:
  • 1  cup 120 g powdered sugar
  • 2 –3 tbsp milk
  • ½  tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Add Wet Ingredients: Create a well; pour in melted butter, milk, and vanilla. Stir until just combined.
  • Knead Lightly: Turn onto floured surface; knead 4–5 times. Pat into a ½‑inch thick rectangle.
  • Cut Bites: Slice into 1‑inch squares.
  • Preheat & Arrange: Preheat air fryer to 350 °F (175 °C). Line basket with parchment. Place bites in a single layer.
  • Air Fry: Cook at 350 °F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until edges are golden.
  • Coat in Butter: Transfer warm bites to a bowl, drizzle with melted butter, and toss gently.
  • Sugar Coat: Toss in cinnamon‑sugar mixture until evenly coated.
  • Optional Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, vanilla, and 2 tbsp milk until smooth; thin with extra milk if needed. Drizzle over bites or serve on the side.

Notes

  • Uniform Size: Cut evenly for consistent cooking.
  • Avoid Crowding: Air must circulate—cook in batches if needed.
  • Re‑crisping: Store cooled bites in an airtight container; reheat at 300 °F for 3 minutes to refresh.
  • Freezer‑Friendly: Flash‑freeze uncoated bites, then bag for up to 1 month. Reheat from frozen and coat fresh.
  • Variations: Use gluten‑free flour blend; add chai spices; swap maple syrup for glaze liquid; press in apple cubes before air frying.
