  • 2 tablespoons red onion finely diced (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional Add-ins:
  • Fresh mozzarella or feta cheese
  • Parmesan cheese for garnish
  • Red pepper flakes for spice

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

  • Wash and dice the tomatoes into small, even pieces. Finely chop the basil and mince the garlic.

Step 2: Combine the Base

  • In a large mixing bowl, add diced tomatoes, basil, garlic, and optional red onion.

Step 3: Season and Mix

  • Drizzle olive oil and balsamic glaze over the mixture. Season with salt and black pepper.

Step 4: Toss Gently

  • Mix everything gently to combine without crushing the tomatoes.

Step 5: Let It Rest

  • Allow the dip to sit for 10–15 minutes so the flavors blend well.

Step 6: Add Optional Ingredients

  • Fold in cheese if using or sprinkle on top for extra richness.

Step 7: Serve

  • Transfer to a serving bowl and serve with toasted bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • Use ripe tomatoes: They provide the best flavour and natural sweetness.
  • Avoid watery dip: Remove excess seeds and juice from tomatoes.
  • Make ahead tip: Prepare a few hours in advance, but add basil just before serving for freshness.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days.
  • Variation idea: Add cream cheese or feta for a creamy version of the Bruschetta Dip Recipe.
  • Serving tip: Best enjoyed at room temperature for maximum flavour.
